Double Shield 3.3 is a combination of two different layers of material: zinc tape with conductive adhesive, which acts as a sacrificial anode, and an HDPE carrier film, which provides external sealing and serves as a barrier to physical and chemical protection.
The result is a unique and effective product that provides active cathodic and physico-chemical passive protection for metal surfaces.
Double Shield 3.3 self-adhesive corrosion protection tape is an innovative technology based on a double active-passive protective barrier. It is designed to protect iron, steel, aluminum and light alloy surfaces against corrosion.
Active protection: provided by the sacrificial action of zinc tape with high purity zinc content (>99.95%). Thanks to the electrically conductive adhesive, which provides a positive electrical connection between the metal surface and the zinc, the zinc tape acts as a sacrificial galvanic anode.
Passive protection: provided by the top layer bonded to the zinc film of the membrane, made of polymer-modified bitumen with a supporting HDPE film. This layer perfectly adheres to the zinc, sealing and protecting it from external influences and mechanical damage.
Chemical protection: the special composition of the outer layer provides resistance to all aggressive substances that naturally occur in soils.
