Rock shield PP 500/PP 1000

Kebu Rocks shield PP 500 /PPP 1000 is used as additional mechanical protection against mechanical damage to the insulated surface of pipelines when they are laid underground up to and including 1420 mm in diameter, or as mechanical protection of buried plastic, steel, cast iron pipelines or vessels.
Meets the requirements of DIN 30 672, DIN EN 12068, DSTU 4219-2003, Change 1. The use of Kebu Rocks shield PP 500/PP 1000 allows to partially refuse backfilling with sand. Kebu Rocks shield PP 500/PP 1000 cushions the impact and distributes the load. In addition, the rock sheet reduces the effects of thermal expansion of the pipeline by decoupling the corrosion-resistant coating from the surrounding soil. Transmitted shear forces are much lower and the risk of mechanical damage is significantly reduced.
The excellent permeability of Kebu Rock shield PP 500 / PP 1000 to soil electrolytes ensures indestructible cathodic protection.

Area of application

According to DSTU 4219 - 2003 p. 6.1.7. 7, Change No. 1 perform protection of the insulated surface of pipelines from mechanical damage during their underground laying in the trench, made in rocky, perennially frozen soils and mineral soils with the inclusion of pebbles, shingles, as well as during laying in swamps and underwater laying with the use of weighting in all microclimatic regions at temperatures from minus 40°C to plus 50°C, diameter up to 1420 mm inclusive.
Kebu Rock shield PP 500/PP 1000 is made of flexible and elastic material, which provides excellent mechanical protection of complex components (e.g. valves, flanges or stems), or as mechanical protection of buried plastic, steel, cast iron pipelines or vessels. Kebu Rock shield PP 500 / PP 1000 should be used in all locations where additional mechanical protection of petrolatum tape coatings such as Kebu Petro-Tape A303 and other tapes is required.
